Twenty on Thursday

Well this will be my last post until at least Sunday. Me and my gal will be heading out on a bus tomorrow night for Savannah, Georgia. To say I'm exciteed is an understatement. Don't worry, I'll take lots of photos and be back Sunday to share them with you.

Let's not get ahead of myself though. Today was a busy but good day! I thought I'd share it with you.

1. Hubby got up this morning and told the kids he would take them to school. They were super excited as usual. What I don't understand is why he needs me to go with him. He always insists I go and then he insists that I walk in with him. He walks to the door and I walk them on to class. I asked him today why he just didn't walk them to class and his response was "It's Hard". Yep, thought I'd fall over. What he meant in men terms I'm sure is that he "didn't want to do it".

2. We had yet another meeting to attend today. This one was a School Readiness Meeting for the Headstart. It was held one county over and was actually a quite interesting meeting. After the meeting we were served dinner. They had some Potatoes & Polish Sausage that was to die for!

3. I got a few minutes (literally a few) to talk to the Hubby before he left for work today. We talked about his weekend plans with the kids. He is going to have them all weekend to entertain while I'm gone.

4. I picked up Lee from school today and had to do a Parent/Teacher Conference with her teacher. It's funny because I talk to her everyday but she is still required by law to do a formal conference.

5. Axle's class had a picnic outside today. Pretty much they just ate their lunch outside but they still had lots of fun doing it. They were asked to bring in a blanket or beach towel today for their picnic so Axle took his Cars Blanket!

6. Anika scheduled Geometry Tutoring for this evening at 3:30 so we ran her up there and dropped her off.

7. We didn't get to take a morning walk today because of the rain so we decided to take an evening walk with the kids. It was nice and they had a fun time! We will definitely be doing more of it when school gets out. We got lucky too, it started raining as soon as we finished up our walk.

8. Dad met us in town after our walk and picked up Axle. They had a hair appointment this evening. The kids acted like complete goofballs while we waited. Axle's hair looks so much better now though.

He wanted a picture of his boo boo he got yesterday

9. On our way home this evening we stopped by my cousin's house. She had texted Anika and told her she had some makeup for her. She was NOT kidding!!! The child should be good on makeup for a year or so. Anika's in her glory, she loves her makeup!

10. My daughter informed me today that she signed me up to teach the 2-3 year old class at Vacation Bible School this year. I'm glad she bothered asking. I don't really mind though just a little nervous as this is the first class I've ever taught. I'll be planning soon!!!!

11. I came home today and threw clothes in the washer. The washer did not work. I have no clue what the deal is. It's like it's not getting any water. Ugh, and it is fairly new!

12. Anika is finally getting excited about Prom!!!! Up until now she hasn't seemed real interested but today she seemed to be getting excited. I'm glad since it's only a little over a week away!

13. Today Axle's teacher sent home a consent form to retain him this year. Her and I had already talked and agreed that Axle would benefit greatly from another year of Kindergarten. As a mother it breaks my heart but I also know it's in his best interest. He is totally okay with the idea because he isn't six yet and thinks he needs to be six to go on to first grade, He will be participating in graduation, cap and gown and all. He will just be doing it two years instead of one,

14, My mom made fried green tomatoes this evening and sent me some. They were so  good. Bless her heart :)

15. I straightened on the house some this evening. Lately I feel very productive and on top of things. It's a good feeling.

16. The packing process has started around here. The kids clothes are packed for mom's for tomorrow night, Anika and I are partially packed and I laid out the kids clothes for the Hubby for the weekend. Hoping it makes it a little easier on him.

17. I watched an episode of Blue Blood tonight. I love that show!!!!

18. It's a gorgeous Kentucky night out. The air after the rain here is just so fresh. I sat on  the porch for awhile and listened to the frogs. I love the country and I love country summer nights so good!

19. The night is winding down here. Both kids are now in bed and Anika is in the tub. I'm going to do a few last minute things and head to bed myself soon.

20. Tomorrow is ANOTHER busy day. I have a multitude of errands to run tomorrow morning. I have packing and preparing to do before we leave. Axle is having field day tomorrow so I'm going to try and go see him for awhile. I'm hoping to work in a walk at some point and then we are going to the Community Center to watch the Church perform for as long as we can. We have to load the bus at 9:00 tomorrow night and it takes us over an hours drive to get there. Like I said, crazy busy. I love my life though!

Friends I'll be back on Sunday! I hope you all have a great weekend. Sis and I are sure hoping too!

Late Night Thoughts

Just some late night thoughts for you!

* The kids got ready for me so easy this morning. Of course it's because their daddy took them to school. It's a rare treat for dad to get to take them.

* Sis and I attended a Health Advisory Meeting today for the Headstart. It was held at a golf course country club place. I hadn't ever been there but really wasn't all that impressed. I thought their menu was kind of limited and they definitely did not have enough staff to accomodate the amount of people we had. Also, the parking was a nightmare. The meeting itself was pretty interesting. Our training topic today was Autism and the lady who presented did a really good job. We also got some great information on vaccinations and disability information for our county.

* I picked Axle up today when I picked up Annalee. He didn't mind getting out of school early. I took him on to the doctor because he's been having some belly issues. The doctor sent us on up to the radiology clinic for an X-ray. Oh my word, that was a nightmare. My son does NOT do doctors well. The 15 minute visit included me chasing him around the room, him hitting and screaming at the top of his lungs, me forcefully holding him down and finally the technician getting a good enough picture to use. I was exhausted! The results should be in tomorrow though and I'm definitely hoping for the best.

* I went ahead and got the house cleaned up when we got home. I also threw in a load of laundry. The baby chick's cage needed cleaned so I checked that off my list too. By this time Axle had finally calmed down and him and Lee were playing so I snuck off to my room to nap. It didn't work tshough, within 5 minutes of laying down, my friend Rebekah showed up.

* Rebekah wanted to go walking today and as much as I wanted to lay there and sleep instead, I didn't. Anika watched the kids for us and we took a walk. We just went to the walking track below my house which isn't my favorite place to walk but it was close to home. We made several laps and the walked down by the water, sit on the bridge and chatted. I could have sat there forever.

* On my way home Anika called and was in a panic, Axle got his finger stuck in a pair of tongs and cut it open. It apparently bled pretty good. I rushed home to find him with dried blood on his arms and a napkin and piece of black tape around his finger. Sissy done good! I took it off and looked at it and luckily it didn't need stitches!

* Anika left for Church with her papa around 6:15. I made a packing list of things we needed to take to Savannah this weekend and I literally couldn't keep my eyes open. I put Axle on the computer, turned Lee on some cartoons and took a nap. I meant to take a short nap but that didn't happen. I was apparently just exhausted.

* I didn't wake until 9:00 when Sis got home from Church. That is the reason I'm posting so late tonight!

* I got up and talked to her. I assessed Lee's damage from when I was asleep. It wasn't too bad, she was just covered in marker and makeup. I decided to send the poor thing to bed looking like that. I'll bath her in the morning.

* We just hung out together a bit tonight and then I sent the little two to bed. Sis followed shortly after them and I'm heading back to bed myself soon. I'm telling you, I'm tired.

* Sorry there isn't no photos today. I have no idea why I didn't take any. Hopefully tomorrow's post will be more interesting for you!

Goodnight Friends

Another Great Day in the Books

Dropping by today with a bunch of randomness

* We were early for school today which was a good thing considering Axle had to be on a bus at 8:00 for his field trip

* I got in my walk this morning. My friend and I walked through our little town and then down by the creek on the walking path. It was a beautiful morning for it.

* My Anika is sick. She woke this morning with a fever and sore throat. After a trip to the doctor, we  were informed she has strepth. Hopefully the antibiotic they gave her will get her all fixed up.

* Hubs worked on our boat again today. To be completely gutted on the inside, he's got it looking good. He did a great job putting the carpet in and he even got us a ladder on it.

* I made some spaghetti and garlic bread for lunch today. Poor hubs is on 2nd shift this week. I hate 2nd shift weeks!

* I called a KOA today about reservations through vacation. I think we are going to opt for camping instead of paying an outrageous rate for a room. The KOA has so much for the kids, we love to camp and all the money we will save we can spend on doing things. I think it's a good idea for us this year.

* It's been an amazing weather day! Unfortunately as I type this I'm listening to the thunder roll. We have rain forecast for several days straight. I'm going to sure miss the sunshine, I'm just hoping the storms tonight don't get too bad. I hate storms.

* When I picked Lee up from school today her teacher and I talked forever. Both my kids have such great teachers.

* I can't believe April is almost over. It's been a busy month. I looked at my calendar for May and it looks even busier. That's okay, you know I like busy!

* Mother's Day is approaching and I have made zero plans. I should start thinking about it

* Axle's baby chick is still doing okay. Hubby fixed it a heat lamp last night when he got home from work. I hope I can keep it alive.

* I had planned on going to a doctor's appointment with my friend tomorrow but the Headstart called and said that there was a Health Advisory meeting tomorrow and they really needed me to come. I guess I'll be doing that instead.

* I finally made Anika a hair appointment for Prom today. Talk about waiting till last minute!

* Ax had a field trip today. It was a Community Trip. They visited the Bank, Courthouse, Library, Fire Department, Pet Store and Airport. They had lunch at a place at the airport which is super nice and they played in the gym at the community center to end their day. He had a great time!

* I got my truck vacuumed out today for our upcoming trip to Savannah. Boy it needed it too.

* Anika worked on some school work today what time she felt like it. She also called and got all of her End of Course tests scheduled. The school year is winding down.

* I gave my friend Rebekah a changing table I no longer used. She ran down and got it this evening. She was ecstatic. She might be one of the most appreciative people I've ever met.

* Mom called this evening and invited us up for dinner so we went. It was great, nothing like mom's cooking. The kids had a great time playing outside and papa took them for a lawnmower ride! I helped mom and dad move some of their outdoor furniture and fix their steps back. It was a nice evening!

* We didn't get home until after 8 tonight. Both kids have been bathed and are ready for bed. I have a tiny bit of planning to do and then I'm headed that way myself.

Another great day in the books
Hope yours has been just as wonderful
