Stuff I didn't want to Do

Gosh it's been a busy long day. Honestly, I'm drained tonight. I think this is the tiredest I've been in awhile. Luckily tomorrow is a bit slower paced. I have a Parent Meeting at 8:30 and a few errands but other than that I'll be staying home. It's probably a good thing, my house is needing it.

The kids both went in to school late today thanks to their mom (me)! I totally overslept this morning. That makes twice this week. I don't know what my deal has been. I tried to sucker Axle out of packing his lunch this morning to save us some time but nothing shaking. He's obsessed with packing his lunch even though he eats off the tray too. To make matters worse, Axle fell off the steps on our way to the car this morning. He took a pretty hard hit on his back. The steps were wet and slick & of course being a boy he wasn't paying attention. I know it hurt because he cried and cried. Ax is a tough guy, he cries very seldom. He got back up though, walked it off and we went on to school.

Lee was a little teary eyed this morning when I dropped her off. Her teacher said she done good today though and actually only cried once because she had an accident. She's been peeing on herself lately at school but I think I've figured out why. I asked if they were actually going in the restroom with her and they aren't. She has trouble getting her clothes up and down so I'm betting that's what the problem is. Hopefully now that I brought it to their attention, they will help her a little more.

Ax had no issues this morning. Actually he caused me to have an issue. He told me he wanted to walk into the school all by himself. I just couldn't believe it. We are talking about the boy who had to be drug to class at the beginning of the year. He has came so far with his social skills and sensory issues this year. He's growing out of them I think.

I spent my day today at my Grandma's house. It was something I didn't want to do but it had to be done. My grandma as some of you probably know, passed on Christmas last year. It's the most horrible feeling in the world going into someone's home and tearing it down. That's exactly how I spent my day. We threw away and donated things that were at some point important to her. We had to go through her stuff as if it was our own. It's such a hard process but thankfully it's done. All that is left is a few pieces of furniture that I'm going to bring to my house in the coming weeks. It's just unbelievable to me that my Granny has been gone almost a year. October 16th is her birthday and I dread seeing it come around. She always loved her birthday. Boy oh boy how I miss her. She was truly my best friend in this world.

We worked up there for several hours. I had to run and pick Annalee up so we got lunch to fuel our bodies to continue on. We had KFC courtesy of my Mommy. Have I told you lately what a good Mommy I have? We finished up around 3:00 which was just enough time for me to go to the Courthouse to get a paper and pick Axle up from school.

While I was at the school I went ahead and had a conference with Annalee's Speech Therapist. Annalee has a SEVERE speech issue. She stammers and stutters something terrible. Sometimes it's very difficult for her to even have a conversation with you. Her therapist agreed that she needs more Speech time so they are going to be working with her an additional day each week at school and I'll also be contacting someone trying to get her some private speech therapy.

After we got home this evening I cleaned up my house and got things ready for tomorrow. Hubby and I were planning to go to Louisa to get a paper filled out after he got home but it ended up not working out that way. Unfortunately Hubby had to work late so I ended up having to go do it myself. The kids went with me and even Anika and Cody were kind enough to ride with me. It was a trip I was dreading but it didn't turn out so bad. I'm just glad to have it done with :)

We got home around 8:30 tonight. Hubby had ordered us pizza, bless his heart, so we ate and then he went to bed. Ax and Lee played on You Tube a bit and then they turned in too. I myself am exhausted so I plan on heading that way really soon as well.

Ax is excited for school tomorrow- he is going to be tye dyeing t-shirts. I can't wait to hear all about it.

Folks, that is how my day went. I done a bunch of stuff I didn't really want to do but all in all it was actually a pretty good day :)

Hope everyone has a good Thursday!!!

I Know That

I don't know everything but there is a few things I do know this Tuesday

I know that- I did not sleep a wink last night. I'm not kidding. I was up and down all night long and at 4:00 am when the Hubby left for work I just got up and stayed up. Insomnia sucks!

I know that- I got a ton of blog reading done this morning but still got so much more I want to do. I'm pacing myself though. If I don't get to your posts, I'm sorry!

I know that- My Anika looked absolutely stunning this morning. She had to wear red & white for FCCLA week. She's vice chairperson so she had to sport the colors. Oh my word, she is so pretty!

I know that- My two cuties were adorable this morning too. The girls basketball team at their school was playing in the tournament tonight so they had to wear blue and white, their school colors, to show their support. Finding Ax something was no problem, he had a school t-shirt. Lee on the other hand had nothing so I dug through a bag of Anika's old stuff and found Anika's old cheer uniform from Kindergarten. We paired it with a tee and jeans and it was perfect for Lee Lee. How cool is that? She's wearing sissy's old clothes!

* I know that I totally wasted a trip to McDonalds this morning. Instead of going for my usual cappuccino, I elected to get a frappe. My first and last. Note to self, you do not like frappes. Yuck!

* I know that despite the rain, I had a really good day today

* I know that red shoes make me happy

* I know that I'm loving my new haircut. I went to a new stylist and I will be returning to her again

* I know that I truly don't know what I'd do without my Mommy. She picked up Lee Lee from school today for me so I could get my hair done. She's really the best.

* I know that my Husband isn't feeling well. When he left for work this morning he had a busting headache and when he got home this evening he still had it. He's been in the bed since he got home.

* I know that Anika is LOVING her new phone and I must admit I'm loving having an IPhone again even if it is her hand me down

* I know that the Mexican Food we had for dinner was delicious. Chicken, Rice and White Cheese Sauce- hello yummy!

* I know that Anika is busting her butt trying to make sure her grades are in check before report cards come out. She stayed after school today and will be staying again Thursday

* I know that Lee and Ax fight like cats and dogs one minute and love each other to pieces the next. Sibling problems I guess!

* I know that Anika isn't feeling well tonight either. Her boyfriend came over for a bit, she ate and then went to bed. It's unlike her to be asleep this early

* I know that Ax had a VERY good day at school today. He got entered into a drawing for making a pledge to read for an entire week and guess what, he won. I have to go pick up his prize tomorrow so I don't know what it is yet. What I do know is they announced his name during an assembly and he got to walk out on the floor and get his pic took for the newspaper. He was quite proud :)

* I know that school wears my poor Lee out and there isn't anything in this world more precious than this picture!

* I know that I have a list a mile long of things to do tomorrow. Another busy one for me!

* I know that I'm heading to bed myself shortly. I need the extra rest after last night. I'll do some last minute tidying up around here, pack lunch buckets, lay out work clothes and then I'll catch myself some Zzzz's

Dear Friends- Happy Tuesday! Hump Day is right around the corner!!!

Hot Topics

Today was a whirlwind kind of day and I'm not even kidding. I must say it's been the busiest Monday I've had in a long while. Instead of boring you with all the details, I'll just give you the Hot Topics of today!

1. We overslept this morning. Now normally this would've upset me but we have done SO well this year that I'm not even going to be too hard on myself. It wasn't exactly the best day to oversleep because of how much I had to do but it happened. We survived it though and got everything done just as needed

2. I got the kids to school about 9:00 this morning & both went in with smiles. It's amazing how well Annalee has adjusted and Axle is just a superstar student this year. Not having crying kids sure makes my mornings a little brighter too. The kids have so much going on at school right now, especially Axle. He's got a few upcoming field trips but I'll tell you all about them later. Today was Grandparent's Day for him too. My mom went and had lunch with him and then got to tour his classroom. He was pretty excited about it.  Lee's class is a little slower pace because it's just a Preschool class but they still get to do plenty of fun things. Playing on the playground is her absolute favorite!

3. I had a meeting today at our local Tea Room I am Secretary of our Parent Group for Annalee's Headstart Center as well as I sit on the Policy Council. Today I was elected Secretary of the Policy Council as well as I'll be sitting on the Policy Committee. These all make important decisions about every aspect of our her school. I love being involved and free food is a bonus. Today the meeting really was more electing officers and such than anything. I got my By Laws book and I'm pretty excited to be participating in this. Our next Parent meeting is Thursday so I'll update you then on how well I like the secretary position. I think it's going to be a good year though.

4. Anika is wanting a new IPhone so I swung by Appalachian today to find out if we had an open contract. Lucky for her, we do. Looks like she will be getting a new one but as a bonus I'll be getting her old one. My old IPhone got broke so I'm pretty happy about getting another. My phone right now is just a cheap one and I'm ready for an upgrade.

5. The weather around here is just PERFECTION!!!!! The temps have been in the 60's and 70's all week. I can't tell you how much I'm loving it.

6. Anika's school held Parent/Teacher Conferences today so that is where I spent my evening. I got all good reports on Anika. It's always nice to hear teachers praise your child. She has a few tests to make up this week before Fall Break starts so she will be staying after school. Other than that, it was all good things!

7. Dinner tonight was Subway. Am I the only person that is in love with Subway's Flat Bread? My sandwich was great but I ventured out and got the Hubby the new Braised Beef and he hated it. Apparently it looked better on the menu than it tasted. Oops!

8. Homework is done and the kids are bathed and in the bed. Anika's in her room watching television and the Hubby is already sleeping because this is his dayshift week. I'm heading to bed soon myself. Tomorrow I've got a hair appointment at noon and I have no idea what I'm going to do to it yet. Also tomorrow is Blue and White Day at Ax and Lee's school to show support for the girls basketball tournament tomorrow night. Check back tomorrow for hair pics and their cute outfit photos.

Goodnight Friends!!1

An Old Fashioned Sunday

We had an Old Fashioned Sunday around these parts. Well at least the beginning of our Sunday was Old Fashioned anyway. Lee Lee, Anika and I attended Sunday service this morning with mom and Dad. It was Old Fashion Day which meant there was some good preaching, good singing and really good food!

Mommy and Daddy

Mommy and Anika

My Mom, Her Sister and Anika

I love their dresses

I didn't dress up but I was there!

After Church SJ had company so Lee napped and I laid around awhile. SJ's buddy came over with his son Matt. Axle loves Matt. He thinks he's the coolest dude ever! Today Matt shot BB Guns with him and of course this made Axle one happy boy.

Most of our evening was spent cleaning up the yard and getting out my Fall decor. I cannot tell you how happy I am with my Fall Decor. My yard looks fantastic and even more fantastic at night because I've to up orange lights that highlight my creation. My hubby did big helping me get this all together.

A friend of mine told me the decor looked so good I needed to host a Fall/Halloween party for the kids. Hey that might not be a bad idea :)

I did the usual running errands and getting things ready for tomorrow the rest of my time. SJ stayed outside and let man ride his bike till dark! Ax is now riding without training wheels and just today he learned to shift gears. He's getting to be such a big boy.

I've got one already asleep and another watching television in bed. My big one, Anika, is staying at Mom's tonight so her and dad can try to catch the Blood Moon. SJ is still gone with a buddy of his and he best be getting back or his butt will never get up for work tomorrow.

Tomorrow starts another busy week for us. Mom is going to Grandparent's Day tomorrow with Axle and I've got a meeting.

Hope you guys have a wonderful week ahead

A Good Day

I find I'm very tired tonight but it's all my own fault. I've had myself on a good sleep/wake schedule and last night I threw caution to the wind and stayed up way too late. It's only 8:44 now and I'm dragging. I've got a feeling my Saturday night is going to come to an end fairly early. This gal needs sleep!

It's been a good day, no complaints from me. The only thing I wish is that my husband hadn't had to work tonight but he did and we are just thankful he has a job.

Here's a few things that made up our good Saturday!!!

* Sleeping in till 9:30 am. Now that school is in session, 9:30 feels like a real treat.

* Getting my Fodder Shocks and Hay bought and home. Our neighbors are selling Fodder Shocks and Hay this year so the Hubby and I ran over there and got some today.

* A good lunch for a good cause. A friend of mine was selling dinners (spaghetti) to help out a friend of her's with cancer. We bought three for lunch today. The food was delicious so it was a win/win

* Spending my day out with these three cuties

* A new black and white polka dot sweater I found at Kmart. OMG I'm in love with it :)

* Getting one of two Halloween costumes bought. Axle found what he wanted today but Lee couldn't find anything that tickled her fancy.

* Finding all the stuff to decorate my yard. I can't wait to get started on it tomorrow!

* Watching Cake Boss- I love that show

* Having my two little one's in the bed by 8:00. Silence for momma

* A semi clean house. I'm really keeping up with things around here these days

* Perfect Fall temperatures even if it was a little rainy

* Chocolate Chip Cookies

* Blog Reading

Yes my friends, that is pretty much what our day consisted of. Definitely a pretty good Fall Saturday. Tomorrow we are decorating so stay tuned for those pictures.

Happy Weekend!!!

To Blog or Not To Blog

I know, I bet you about had a stroke when you saw me show up in your news feed. Yes, I've been gone a long time. I really didn't know if I was going to come back to blogging or not. It's something I've been tossing around in my head for a few weeks now. You see, I have sort of an obsessive personality. Unfortunately it's not obsessive about cleaning but it is obsessive about other things like blogging, sweepstakes, etc. Sometimes when I start something of this nature I spend WAY too much time on it and that is the one thing I don't want to do this time around. I love to blog because I love to write but I also love to live in the real world and over the past month or so I've found that it is very important for my mental well being to NOT sit in front of a computer screen so much. With that said, I'm back to blogging however I don't know how often I'll be posting or how much reading I'll be doing. I'm really going to try to limit myself.

I'm not going to even bother trying to catch you up on everything. The last post I made we had just moved onto a campground for the Summer and that was right after Easter. Let me just tell you that it was definitely an experience. I thought it was a great decision for our family and while we did have some good moments, I was definitely wrong. We have been home now about 3 weeks so we stayed a total of about 4 months. By the end I was just so done and over it. Our summer consisted of LOTS of drama and I'm not going to even go into details. Let's just say it was one summer and one experience I NEVER want to do again.

Just to fill you in a little on how we all are now, I'll give you just a brief update!

I'm now officially a stay at home mom again. I've been unemployed since around April. While I literally hated it all summer long, now that we are home I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I do have an application in with our local Headstart/Preschool Program to substitute but other than that I'm totally not looking for work. I've been working on my mental health and learning how to battle my depression better. I must say, I'm doing really well. I'll post more on that later though. I'm filling my days with as much as I can and keeping my brain as busy as I can. I'm home enough to rest and relax but not enough to fall into a depressed state. It's all about balance and I think I'm finally figuring it all out.

SJ is still working. He's still at the same place and still rotates shifts weekly. He works more than he's home but we are just thankful he still has a job. So very many in this area are out of work so we consider ourselves extremely blessed. He still likes to trade and even bought a truck today to tinker with as he says. He needed it like a hole in the head but whatever, it's just who he is.

Anika is so growing up on me. She's turned into a beautiful young lady and she's really blossomed over the summer. She has a new boyfriend which she's crazy about and they spend most of their time bowling. He's completely obsessed with bowling and wants to bowl league one of these days. He's a good kid and we couldn't be happier for her. She's still attending church and is in public school again this year. She's doing very well in school and is even President of the FCCLA Club. She still doesn't have her permit and I don't know if she ever will. The girl just don't want to drive. I'm so blessed to call her my daughter though. She's such a good girl.

Axle has done a complete 360 over the summer. He started Kindergarten this year and the kid LOVES school. We are talking about the same kid I drug in Headstart for two years kicking and screaming. He's no longer shy and backward. He's involved in everything coming and going, never meets a stranger and loves everyone. He truly has came out of his shell. He even says he's going to play basketball this year. I never dreamed he would make such a turnaround but he definitely has. It's like he turned 5 over the summer and turned into a little man!

Annalee is now enrolled in Headstart. It's hard to believe all three of my babies are in school. She's still sweet as sugar but she's most definitely going through the Terrible Three's. She's absolutely the whiniest child I've ever met and she drives this momma crazy. I know it will too pass and so I bear with her. She's not adjusting to school quite as well as Axle has. She cries for me throughout the day but it's been less and less each day so I think we are getting there. She's became my shy one and hides behind me every time someone speaks to her. She's funny as a monkey though and keeps me laughing. She truly is my littlest big blessing!

I'm going to share some photos with you....I truthfully didn't take many over the summer because I was so depressed I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Since I've been home I've definitely taken more!
